What this site stores, and what it does not.

ChinaReadyCheck has no accounts, no sign-in and no newsletter. Your answers in the eligibility checker and the Boarding Kit are processed in your browser. The server keeps event counts, hashed IP addresses and any text you deliberately send through a form. Nothing here is sold or shared with advertisers.

The checker and the Boarding Kit

  • The eligibility check runs in your browser. If you press Save this check, the answers are sent once to our server to compute the same result; the server stores only the outcome (likely / edge case / not compatible, counter-risk level), the page path, your browser's user-agent string, a one-way hash of your IP address and a timestamp. Passport country, airports and dates are not stored.
  • The Boarding Kit is rendered on your device from the values you enter. Printing or saving it as a PDF happens in your browser; the document is not uploaded.
  • Itinerary checklists downloaded from guide pages are generated on request and not retained.

Questions and feedback you send

Text submitted through the search box, the "ask a question" and feedback forms is stored so we can improve pages. Before storage it is stripped of markup, e-mail addresses and phone-like numbers, and capped in length. It is kept with a hashed IP and user-agent for abuse prevention and expires automatically. Do not put passport numbers, booking references or other sensitive details in free-text fields; use contact for corrections.

Analytics

  • Google Analytics 4(measurement ID G-FLRTQGN0EY) records page views and events such as checker results and outbound partner clicks. It runs only on chinareadycheck.com, not on the Boarding Kit print view. Block it with a content blocker or Google's opt-out add-on.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics collects aggregate page-load and Core Web Vitals data without cookies or cross-site tracking.
  • Our own event log (see above) is used for aggregate counts such as how many checks ended in an edge case. It never contains the answers you entered.

Affiliate links

Links to booking partners go through /go/<partner>and carry our partner account identifiers plus a short tag naming the page you came from, so a booking can be attributed to this site. The tag contains no personal data. The partner's own privacy policy applies once you leave. Which links pay a commission is listed on the affiliate disclosure page.

Cookies and local storage

  • Checker inputs and checklist progress may be kept in your browser's local storage so a reload does not lose them. They never leave your device unless you save a check.
  • Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies; Cloudflare Web Analytics sets none.
