Step by step

  1. Before landing, save your hotel address in Chinese and English.
  2. After immigration, get online before leaving the arrival hall.
  3. If landing at PVG before evening, compare Maglev + metro against Didi/taxi based on luggage.
  4. If landing late, skip complex transfers and use taxi, Didi, or a pre-booked transfer.
  5. On the first night, do not plan a cross-city dinner unless payment and transport are already tested.
